(CBS12) — Hundreds of people from across the United States and beyond have gathered at the Best Buddies Leadership Conference at Indiana University to celebrate friendship and promote inclusivity in schools and communities. The event, which draws participants from places as far as Tanzania, aims to spread the message of inclusion and kindness.

Over the 4th of July weekend, Best Buddies International hosted its Champion of the Year fundraiser at Hotel Jerome with the theme of a Gala en Blanc. Founded in 1987 by Anthony Kennedy Shriver when he was a student at Georgetown University, the organization has been dedicated to creating opportunities for friendship, employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) since the beginning.

Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network (DSDN) and Eunie’s Buddies are proud to announce a new partnership that extends Eunie’s Buddies’s established mentorship program to families served through the Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network, offering parent-to-parent connection for families navigating the early stages of their Down syndrome journey.
Best Buddies International welcomed an exciting lineup of celebrity supporters, families, and Best Buddies participants for the 2025 Celebrity Holiday Bowling with Best Buddies event at Pinz Bowling Center in Studio City. The annual celebration brought together nearly 200 guests for an afternoon of bowling, connection, and holiday cheer all in support of Best Buddies’ mission of inclusion.
Best Buddies Internationa is thrilled to present its Best Buddies Challenge: Miami Chaired by Kenneth C. Griffin and Griffin Catalyst and Presented by the Andrew P. Barowsky Foundation, and Mack Cycle & Fitness, and the Jersey Mike’s Subs Best Buddies Miami Gala on Saturday, November 15 at MANA Wynwood. Collectively, this year’s bike ride and Gala are expected to raise $5 million for Best Buddies programs.
