Meet Dan Oplinger and Dane Watson! These two have been matched as buddies in the DeSales University Best Buddies chapter for four years — and have been inseparable ever since. From their very first meeting, it was clear that Dan and Dane shared a special connection built on kindness, laughter, and mutual respect.

“Having met Dan my freshman year meant the world to me. We’ve been able to form a lifelong friendship centered around care for one another and always having a good time! I will always be grateful for Best Buddies and all of the amazing people I have met because of it.”

One of their favorite things to do together is attend the theater. Every summer, they make it a tradition to see a show at the Shakespeare Festival held right on DeSales’ campus. It’s a highlight of their year — a time to share their love of the arts and enjoy the energy of live performance side by side.

Throughout the school year, Dan and Dane look forward to each chapter event, always eager to share updates on their lives and make new memories together. Their friendship reflects what Best Buddies is all about: inclusion, joy, and lifelong connection.
