Boston, May 22, 2019 – Best Buddies International, a nonprofit dedicated to creating opportunities for friendship, employment, leadership development and inclusive living for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), is pleased to announce that the 20th Annual Best Buddies Challenge: Hyannis Port , presented by Pepsi-Cola and Shaw’s and Star Market Foundation, will take place May 31 – June 1st. More than 2,000 people are expected to participate in the Challenge – a charity ride, run, and walk to benefit Best Buddies International.

I was born at Tampa General Hospital in 1983; I was raised by my aunt, BJ, in Florida after my parents dropped me off at my grandmother’s house and never came back. School was hard for me. I was teased until I found Best Buddies in middle school. My bond with my middle school buddy helped me because I felt protected from everyone’s teasing and her friendship gave me something to look forward to every day...

Best friends since high school, #NFLDraft hopeful Tyrel Dodson and Best Buddies participant William Gawlas will always have each other's backs.
