MIAMI (WSVN) – It was a fun morning at loanDepot Park in Miami, as the Best Buddies community and the 7News family came together to send a message of inclusion.
Rachael Fischer is a skier, a storyteller, and a state director with a mission. The Indiana native now leads Best Buddies in Colorado, part of a global nonprofit born from the Kennedy-Shriver legacy, that’s redefining inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Over the past few weeks, there have been significant developments in the global, national, and local responses to the ongoing spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The following is an update on Best Buddies events and initiatives given the current COVID-19 situation.
Best Buddies International welcomed an exciting lineup of celebrity supporters, families, and Best Buddies participants for the 2025 Celebrity Holiday Bowling with Best Buddies event at Pinz Bowling Center in Studio City. The annual celebration brought together nearly 200 guests for an afternoon of bowling, connection, and holiday cheer all in support of Best Buddies’ mission of inclusion.
Best Buddies Internationa is thrilled to present its Best Buddies Challenge: Miami Chaired by Kenneth C. Griffin and Griffin Catalyst and Presented by the Andrew P. Barowsky Foundation, and Mack Cycle & Fitness, and the Jersey Mike’s Subs Best Buddies Miami Gala on Saturday, November 15 at MANA Wynwood. Collectively, this year’s bike ride and Gala are expected to raise $5 million for Best Buddies programs.
Dozens of cyclists took to the streets of South Florida on Saturday for the Best Buddies Challenge, a charity ride aimed at supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
