Michael and Luky would like to tell you about the difference you are making as a new Best Buddies donor.
In 2013, when Michael Hadler joined the Best Buddies chapter at his high school, his mom, Luky, says he found true friends and his mission in life. Michael was so inspired by Best Buddies that he asked everyone he knew to get involved. He says, “I’ve made many good friends through Best Buddies that truly want to hang out with me and don’t see my circumstances, but see my special abilities.”
In 2017, Michael attended the annual Best Buddies Leadership Conference in Bloomington, Indiana, where he became even more inspired and skilled as a Best Buddies leader and advocate for inclusion for people with intellectual and development disabilities.
Michael is now in college and working toward a communications degree. In addition, as a Best Buddies Ambassador, he speaks at schools and organizations in the community. Michael often shares his poem, “Beyond the Chair,” where he invites people to look beyond his wheelchair, explaining, “I’m just like you.”
