Best Buddies Living is welcoming its newest location in Bloomington, Indiana! As a housing opportunity that is described as “at once ordinary and extraordinary” by the Washington Post, Best Buddies Living is like any other roommate experience, however; it is intentionally inclusive. Best Buddies Living offers spaces for individuals with and without intellectual disabilities to live together as roommates while simultaneously working toward their own individual goals.

At Best Buddies Living, residents fill their days with work, classes, and personal activities. In the evenings and on weekends, they come together for weekly group dinners and four monthly events, creating natural opportunities for genuine friendships to form. Residents also receive individualized support from an on-site Residential Manager, who helps them build key independent living skills in areas such as cooking, cleaning, money management, and social communication. Each support plan is customized and evolves along with the participant.

Best Buddies Living is thrilled to expand to Bloomington with its newest location at The , Standard, conveniently located near Indiana University. Residents will enjoy access to local restaurants, campus events, and reliable public transportation, all while living in a welcoming and supportive community.

The Living program is open to individuals over the age of 18 who are ready to embrace independent living. Residents are asked to participate in weekly group meals and activities, maintain employment or attend a higher education program, and support fellow residents.
