Inaugural Best Buddies Friendship Walk in Cheyenne Wyoming!

CHEYENNE — On Saturday, Cheyenne East senior Kaitlyn Marcum hosted Cheyenne’s first Best Buddies Friendship Walk in Lions Park.
Everyone met at the Kiwanis Community House before taking a quick lap of the park. Many could be seen wearing purple, the primary color for the Best Buddies International organization.
Whether they were there with their buddy, or there just to support the program, at least 30 individuals were already lined up and starting their walk at 9 a.m. People were able to come and go as they pleased until noon, since no reservations were needed.
Best Buddies is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Many schools around the country have Best Buddies programs, including five in Wyoming.
