Walk for a World That Welcomes All
Spreading Inclusion One Step at a Time: Best Buddies Featured on NBC DFW
North Texas Development Director Tracy Churchman and her son, Tysen, a proud Best Buddies Ambassador and Jobs Program participant, recently appeared on NBC DFW’s Texas Today to spotlight the upcoming Best Buddies Friendship Walk, happening April 26, 2025.
During the interview, Tracy spoke about the organization’s life-changing mission of inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). She shared how events like the Friendship Walk help fund vital programs that create opportunities for friendship, leadership development, employment, inclusive living and family support.
Tysen, with his signature enthusiasm, expressed what Best Buddies means to him, from finding lifelong friends to gaining meaningful job experience. As a Jobs participant, Tysen is thriving in his role and serves as an inspiring voice for others in the IDD community.
“The Friendship Walk is more than just a walk—it’s a celebration of inclusion, acceptance, and the power of community,” said Tracy.
Held at Frisco RoughRiders Field, the April 26 walk promises to bring together hundreds of participants, families, and supporters to raise awareness and funds for Best Buddies Texas. Registration is open now, and everyone is welcome to join the movement.
