Record-Breaking Night of Inclusion at 2025 Gala

On October 3, 2025, Best Buddies in Kentucky hosted an unforgettable evening of friendship, inclusion, and generosity at its annual Champion of the Year Gala. The event brought together supporters from across the Commonwealth for a night that celebrated the power of community and reaffirmed the mission of creating meaningful opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere was filled with excitement, gratitude, and an overwhelming sense of purpose.
The event welcomed more than 240 guests, each of whom played a part in making the night a record‑breaking success. Together, attendees helped raise the largest amount in state history for Best Buddies in Kentucky — a remarkable milestone that will have a lasting impact on programs and participants across the region. This collective achievement highlighted what is possible when passionate individuals and community partners unite around a shared commitment to inclusion.
A major highlight of the evening was the announcement of Addie Childers and her Mission Partner, Kiersten Langford, as the 2025 Kentucky Champions of the Year. Their extraordinary campaign raised an impressive $58,000, a testament to their leadership, dedication, and deep belief in the mission. Their efforts inspired supporters throughout the fundraising season and demonstrated how powerful advocacy can be when fueled by genuine passion and purpose.

Guests enjoyed a festive cocktail reception and dinner, followed by both silent and live auctions featuring unique experiences, exclusive packages, and special items that added excitement to the night. The program also included heartfelt mission moments, including an inspiring story of friendship shared by Isabella Higgins and Ryan Hopkins. Their message served as a powerful reminder of why inclusion matters and why the work of Best Buddies continues to be so essential.
Funds raised from the gala will expand school friendship chapters, support leadership development opportunities, and strengthen programs that create meaningful connections for individuals with IDD. Through the generosity of our Champions, mission partners, sponsors, and guests, Best Buddies Kentucky continues working toward a future where every person has a place to belong.
