Buddy Ball Brings Friendship and Fun to Eastern High School

On February 28, 2025, Best Buddies in Kentucky hosted Buddy Ball 2025 from 6:00–9:00 PM at Eastern High School — an unforgettable evening filled with music, laughter, celebration, and meaningful connection.
Students from across the region gathered for a night dedicated to friendship and inclusion. From the moment guests arrived, the energy in the room was undeniable. The gym was transformed into a vibrant celebration space, complete with colorful decorations, glowing lights, and bright glow sticks that illuminated the dance floor. Upbeat music kept the excitement high, and students eagerly filled the floor, dancing together and cheering one another on throughout the evening.
Guests enjoyed pizza, sweet treats, and refreshments while taking time to connect with both new and familiar friends. Whether posing for photos, laughing over shared snacks, or forming dance circles, the night was filled with moments that highlighted the power of inclusive spaces. Advisors and volunteers worked alongside student leaders to ensure that every attendee felt welcomed, supported, and celebrated.

A particularly meaningful highlight of the evening was the Spread the Word banner. Throughout the event, students signed their names and wrote messages pledging their commitment to inclusion. By the end of the night, the banner stood as a colorful and powerful symbol of unity — a reminder that building an inclusive community starts with individual action and collective commitment.
Buddy Ball is more than just a dance. It reflects the heart of the Best Buddies mission by creating opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to build friendships, gain confidence, and fully participate in school life. Events like this strengthen school communities and demonstrate what is possible when inclusion is prioritized.
We are deeply grateful to the students, advisors, families, and volunteers who made Buddy Ball 2025 such a success. Because of your support, we continue building communities across Kentucky where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to belong.
