This July, Best Buddies in Kentucky proudly hosted our annual Best Buddies Golf Scramble — a day that once again showcased the power of community, connection, and purpose. What began as a friendly competition on the course quickly grew into a meaningful celebration of inclusion, unity, and collective impact. The event truly embodied the spirit of Best Buddies, reminding everyone in attendance why this mission matters.

More than 70 golfers from across the Commonwealth joined us for this memorable day. Participants included longtime supporters who have championed inclusion for years, new partners eager to get involved, and dedicated advocates committed to creating opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Their presence demonstrated that when a community comes together with a shared purpose, incredible things can happen. This diverse mix of supporters contributed to an atmosphere filled not only with excitement, but also with genuine camaraderie and gratitude.

The course buzzed with energy from the very beginning. Participants enjoyed ideal weather, friendly competition, and moments of connection that extended far beyond the game itself. Throughout the scramble, golfers formed new relationships, strengthened existing ones, and engaged in meaningful conversations about the importance of inclusion. Even as teams competed for top scores, it was clear that the day’s true success was measured in the relationships built and the awareness raised. The positive energy on the course reflected the heart of Best Buddies — creating spaces where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered.

Thanks to the enthusiasm, generosity, and competitive spirit of our golfers, sponsors, and volunteers, the 2025 Golf Scramble raised an incredible \$17,000 in support of statewide Best Buddies programs. These funds will directly strengthen school friendship chapters, expand leadership development opportunities, and support program growth across Kentucky. Every dollar raised helps ensure that individuals with IDD have access to friendships, leadership pathways, and inclusive experiences that make a lasting impact.
