Held on October 7, 2025, at Park Crest in Hoover, Alabama, the evening radiated the true spirit of Best Buddies — one rooted in belonging and the belief that everyone is welcome. From the moment guests arrived, the energy in the room was both uplifting and contagious.

During cocktail hour, attendees enjoyed designing their own custom jewelry at the Kendra Scott station, while others sipped on a refreshing signature cocktail generously provided in-kind by Tito’s, adding a festive touch to the celebration. From Mary White’s electric speech to the lively auction and heartfelt bidding, every moment reflected gratitude, celebration, and unity.

The highlight of the evening came as Latasha Bonner and Nicole Newell of The J.M. Smucker Company were crowned the 2025 Champions of the Year, raising an incredible \$53,144. This marks J.M. Smucker’s third year participating in the competition and their second consecutive win — a remarkable achievement that underscores their deep commitment to inclusion and community. The team’s passion and partnership beautifully embody one of the company’s core beliefs: to “Thrive Together.”

“Starting as a Champion of the Year candidate in 2023 was just the beginning. Over the past two years, I’ve watched our partnership with Best Buddies Alabama flourish—raising awareness, building friendships, and creating real opportunities for inclusion. What began with a few passionate advocates has grown into a full team effort, raising over \$53,000 in 2025 alone. It’s been incredible to see how one campaign can become a movement that touches lives across our facility and community.
