San Simeon, CA, September 4, 2018 – Best Buddies International, a nonprofit dedicated to creating opportunities for friendship, employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), is pleased to announce that Steve Hearst and California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom will serve as Honorary Co-Chairs of the 15th Best Buddies Challenge: Hearst Castle presented by Pepsi-Cola.

Shriver, 53, who founded the nonprofit program Best Buddies, which advocates for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, shared fond memories of his cousin, Christopher Lawford, who died from a heart attack at age 63 on Tuesday, as well as his aunt, Rosemary Kennedy, whose disability spurred the foundation of Best Buddies.

Best friends since high school, #NFLDraft hopeful Tyrel Dodson and Best Buddies participant William Gawlas will always have each other's backs.
