Meet Tatum Heiner

We are excited to highlight the University of Utah Chapter and their dedicated President, Tatum Heiner. Tatum’s journey with Best Buddies began during her freshman year in 2022, and since then, her commitment to the organization has only grown stronger. She served as chapter secretary from 2023 to 2025, where she played a key role in organizing events and strengthening member engagement. This year, she proudly stepped into the role of Chapter President, continuing to lead with passion and purpose.
Under Tatum’s leadership, the University of Utah Chapter has flourished. The chapter now boasts over 50 members and has created 10 meaningful buddy pairs, fostering friendships that truly embody the mission of inclusion. The group is especially excited to participate in the upcoming Best Buddies Walk, where they will celebrate their achievements and continue spreading awareness.
“Best Buddies has transformed my college experience. Over the past four years, serving as an officer for three and a half, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for true friendship, leadership, and inclusion. This experience has shaped how I connect with others and reinforced my commitment to creating communities where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported.”
Her words capture the heart of what Best Buddies represents. Through her leadership, Tatum has not only strengthened her chapter but also inspired those around her to build more inclusive and compassionate communities. Her journey is a powerful reminder of the impact that dedication and connection can have, both on campus and beyond.
