🏒 Third Annual Best Buddies Night on the Ice with the Sioux Falls Stampede 🎉
For the third year in a row, Best Buddies South Dakota partnered with the Sioux Falls Stampede to host Night on the Ice — a FREE, unforgettable evening centered around inclusion, friendship, and community connection.
Building on the momentum of last year’s event, this year’s Night on the Ice expanded its reach and impact, welcoming 100 Best Buddies members, along with their friends and family members, to enjoy an exciting night cheering on the Stampede. The continued growth of this partnership reflects a shared commitment to creating spaces where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities feel valued, included, and celebrated.
The Stampede once again generously provided complimentary tickets to Best Buddies participants and their buddies. By utilizing a special code at checkout, members were able to easily secure tickets for themselves and their buddy, removing financial barriers and ensuring that this opportunity remained accessible to all. This simple but meaningful gesture allowed more members than ever to experience the energy of a live hockey game.

From the moment guests stepped inside the Denny Sanford Premier Center, the excitement was undeniable. Smiles, high-fives, and cheers echoed throughout the arena as members proudly supported the home team. Looking across the stands, you could see friendships in action, new connections forming, long-time buddies strengthening their bonds, and advisors and families joining in the celebration of inclusion. The atmosphere was more than just a hockey game; it was a visible example of community coming together.
Events like Night on the Ice showcase Best Buddies’ mission in action across Sioux Falls and beyond. They create opportunities for shared experiences, meaningful relationships, and memories that extend far beyond a single evening.
As the final buzzer sounded, attendees left the rink with bright smiles, warm hearts, and stories to share — proof that inclusion is not just an idea, but something Best Buddies South Dakota actively brings to life. With growing participation and strong community partnerships, Night on the Ice continues to demonstrate what is possible when organizations work together to build a more inclusive world.
