We are so excited to celebrate a wonderful new friendship in Best Buddies in Delaware! Catherine and Elise are two members of our Citizens program who have quickly connected and are now officially Delaware’s newest buddy pair!

Catherine has been a longtime participant in Best Buddies. Her journey began during her time at the University of Delaware, where she was involved with UD Best Buddies. After graduating, Catherine recently transitioned into our Citizens program, an adult, community-based program that connects people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities across the state. We have loved watching Catherine continue her Best Buddies journey and build new connections in her community.

Elise recently joined the Citizens program, and we are over the moon to have her with us! It did not take long for Catherine and Elise to hit it off. For their first meetup, the two met for coffee and spent plenty of time chatting and getting to know one another. Catherine shared about her job and her experiences with UD Best Buddies, while Elise shared exciting news of her own—her baby girl recently celebrated her first birthday!

Their friendship has continued to grow, and most recently, Catherine and Elise joined us for a fun Paint Night at Michaels. It was wonderful to see the two enjoying time together, getting creative, and continuing to strengthen their friendship.

We are incredibly grateful for partnerships that help make moments like these possible. A special thank-you goes to Michaels for their continued support of Best Buddies in Delaware, including their generosity and partnership with our recent Friendship Walk and fundraising efforts. We are also so appreciative of their invitations to our chapters to participate in fun craft events throughout the year.

We cannot wait to see where Catherine and Elise’s friendship takes them next!
