The second you meet Terrie Namkung, you have a friend for life! Terrie has a special way of making everyone feel welcome, valued, and included. Not only will he always remember your birthday, but he can also tell you the day of the week you were born! His incredible memory is just one of the many things that makes Terrie so special, but it is his warm heart and genuine love for others that truly make him unforgettable.

Terrie is a longtime Best Buddies participant and advocate who has been involved with the organization since 2021. He is matched with his buddy, Joe, and together they make an incredible pair! The two love getting out into the community, participating in activities, and building meaningful connections. Their friendship is a wonderful example of the power of Best Buddies and the lasting impact that inclusive friendships can have.

This year, Terrie and Joe are taking their involvement to the next level by participating in the 2026 Champion of the Year campaign, a fundraising competition supporting Best Buddies in Delaware. Terrie will also take the stage at the event alongside his mom, Taraina, to share their personal story and speak about the life-changing impact of Best Buddies. As an incredible advocate for the organization, Terrie helps others understand the importance of friendship, inclusion, and creating opportunities for everyone to belong.

Terrie truly is the heart of Best Buddies. Whenever he is out in the community, he is always looking for new friends to welcome into the Best Buddies family. He goes out of his way to make new members feel comfortable and included, especially when they attend their very first event. His enthusiasm, kindness, and welcoming spirit remind us all what friendship is really about! Most recently, Terrie received the Spirit of Friendship Award at the 2026 Friendship Walk, recognizing the incredible warmth and positivity he brings to the Best Buddies community.
