Best Buddies Brings the Whole School Together at Pack the Stands

The Best Buddies Club at Middletown High School helped create an unforgettable night during the annual Pack the Stands Unified Basketball game. The event took place on January 12th, 2026, when the Unified Basketball team faced their cross-town rival at home.
Leading up to the game, members of the Best Buddies Club worked hard to promote the event. Posters were shared around the school, announcements were made, and students were encouraged to attend. Their efforts paid off when the gym filled with students, teachers, families, and community members. Every seat was taken, and the crowd brought loud cheers and positive energy.
The packed gym showed how much the school cares about inclusion. Students came together to support Unified athletes and celebrate teamwork and friendship. The excitement in the stands helped make the game feel special for everyone involved!

Photos from the night were taken by the club’s Special Olympics Representative Officer, who also enjoys photography. The pictures show smiling faces, school pride, and a strong sense of community.
Ethan Fink, the Best Buddies Chapter President, shared his thoughts on the event. “Seeing the whole gym full made me really proud. It showed that our school believes everyone should be supported and included.”
The Pack the Stands game was more than just a basketball game. It was a reminder that when a school comes together, it can create a welcoming place where everyone belongs! Way to go Middletown High School! We cannot wait to see what their Best Buddies Chapter has planned next!
