Best Buddies Challenge brings hundreds of cyclists to NYC for 100-mile ride

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- Hundreds of cyclists set off from Central Park this weekend for the annual Best Buddies Challenge New York, a fundraising ride expected to generate $4 million for programs supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Best Buddies International founder Anthony Kennedy Shriver helped kick off the event, which drew riders from across the region for routes stretching far beyond New York City. Many participants tackled a 100-mile ride, while two former Tour de France champions joined the cause.
