B\"Ryan<\/a>OSTON (WHDH) – Each Monday afternoon, Best Buddy Ryan Chapman gets Davio\u2019s ready for guests.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love working Monday nights, because the restaurant looks more elegant, and so peaceful, and romantic,\u201d Chapman said.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s been working here for more than a year, and he\u2019s done so well, he earned Massachusetts Best Buddies Employee of the Year!<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s such an honor to have that, such an amazing award to have employee of the year,\u201d said Chapman.<\/p>\n

All told, Davio\u2019s has hired 3 Best Buddies.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe thought we\u2019d take these people in, and get some self-esteem, and teach em how to fish, right? We thought it was great for them, but you know what?\u00a0 Honestly what happened was, it\u2019s really helped us. We\u2019ve all changed,\u201d said Steve Difillipo, the chef\/owner, Davio\u2019s.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just working real hard, you know, always with a smile on my face,\u201d said Chapman.<\/p>\n

Best Buddies is a non-profit organization that creates friendships, job opportunities, and training for people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities.\u00a0 And they\u2019re looking for more job opportunities for people like Ryan Chapman.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur whole goal is to\u2026really make hiring a person with a disability no dissimilar than hiring any typical person,\u201d said Craig Welton, state director, Best Buddies Massachusetts.<\/p>\n

Another bonus for Chapman- playing football with Tom Brady.\u00a0 Last year he caught a pass from tb12 at the annual Best Buddies Football Challenge at Harvard Stadium.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s such a great honor to catch a football from the baddest football player in the planet.\u00a0 You know?\u201d said Chapman.<\/p>\n

And the annual Best Buddies Challenge, is June 3.\u00a0 Once again, 7News will sponsor the ride\u2014all to benefit the non-profit organization.<\/p>\n
