The event was hosted by Best Buddies celebrity supporter <strong>Vanessa Hudgens<\/strong> and her mother Gina and<strong> Liane<\/strong> and <strong>Ava Weintraub.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>This Mother\u2019s Day Brunch celebrated the incredible mothers of Best Buddies participants and mothers all around the world, paying homage to the gifts of love and friendship that mothers give to their children, especially the mothers of Best Buddies participants.<\/p>\n<p>The Brunch included live musical performances by the <strong>Hip-Hop Musical, Marlana VanHoose, <\/strong><strong>Nita Whitaker<\/strong>, actress <strong>Olivia Culpo<\/strong> and her mother Susan, family-friendly activities such as hair-braiding, a petting zoo, Blushington Beauty Bar pop-up, Floral Crowns, delicious ice cream treats from Cold Stone Creamery, and photos for each guests captured by acclaimed photographer <strong>Brian Bowen Smith<\/strong>. The highlight of the evening was the awards ceremony honoring the Best Buddies\u2019 <em>Mother of the Year <\/em>&#8212; <strong>Diana Mayor <\/strong>&#8212; the mother of Jack Mayor, who is a Best Buddies Global Ambassador and advocate for others with intellectual and developmental disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBest Buddies gave my son Jack his best friend, Josie. Best Buddies in turn gave me HOPE! Hope for a better future for all kids like Jack,\u201d said Diana Mayor. \u201cWords cannot express how thankful we are to Anthony K. Shriver for his vision back in 1989, a vision that led to one of countless stories like Jack and Josie\u2019s. Best Buddies is changing lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Several of Best Buddies\u2019 celebrity supporters attended the event, \u00a0including Best Buddies Global Ambassador <strong>Cindy Crawford <\/strong>and her daughter <strong>Kaia Gerber, <\/strong>actors \u00a0<strong>Minnie Driver<\/strong>, <strong>Lisa Rinna, Lauren Potter, \u00a0Kevin Dillon, John Stamos, Greg Germann<\/strong> and<strong> Darren Criss, \u00a0<\/strong>among others.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Across the globe, mothers act as pillars of love, friendship and strength for their families. Mothers are an invaluable source of encouragement, and above all, they understand us like no one else can,\u201d said <strong>Anthony Kennedy Shriver<\/strong>, Founder, Chairman &amp; CEO of Best Buddies International. \u201cMy mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, will always be my hero. I would be nowhere without her unending love and guidance. My mother guided me in everything I did. She believed relentlessly in the power of friendship and without her, Best Buddies would not exist. I thank her for her love, passion, leadership and faith in our cause.
