Over 200 Come Together for 5th Annual Best Buddies Friendship Ball
On Sunday, March 12, 2017 Riverdale Country High School came together to host their 5th Annual Best Buddies Friendship Ball. Over 200 participants from high school and college chapters in the New York metro area came together to enjoy an afternoon of fun festivities, food, dancing and friendship.
The junior class at Riverdale Country High School, a Best Buddies Promoters chapter located in the Bronx, worked hard throughout the year to plan an event for the chapter members from NYC and Westchester. This year the students decided to have a Carnival-themed Friendship Ball, in celebration of #BestBuddiesMonth. Riverdale provided Carnival themed activities including a photo booth, arts and crafts and games to go along with the awesome DJ!
Experiences like the Friendship Ball help promote inclusive environments and are a chance to put the Best Buddies mission to action for our schools in the New York metro area. We are grateful to have such dedicated students at Riverdale who are willing to give their time to plan such an event, which our participants look forward to year-round. The day would not be a success without our volunteers that are willing to come support our mission and ensure the program runs smoothly.
Each year, as the Friendship Ball comes to an end, we as a Best Buddies staff, and those at Riverdale Country High School look forward to seeing more participants next year. It is an event filled with the Best Buddies mission and an afternoon making life-long memories with friends both new and old.
