Inaugural Golf Outing raises over $12,000 for Best Buddies Iowa
On Sunday, August 14, 2016, Best Buddies Iowa (BBIA) hosted its inaugural Golf Outing at A.H. Blank Golf Course in Des Moines, Iowa. 36 foursomes paid to play a round of 18 holes, with all proceeds benefitting the mission of inclusion and friendship for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the state of Iowa. BBIA partnered with Bobby Burgett in order to put on this fun event, complete with competitions, raffle prizes, and lunch for all participants.
To conclude the golf outing, Tyler Steinke, spoke to guests about the impact Best Buddies has made in his life. Bobby Burgett is employed at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage as a consultant and has played bocce for years with Tyler Steinke, an Urbandale High School Ambassador and chapter member. Through his friendship with Tyler, he was able to witness the impact of Best Buddies firsthand and in result, Bobby wanted to do something to help give back to Best Buddies Iowa. All in all, BBIA’s inaugural Golf Outing netted over $12,000.
Best Buddies Iowa would like to thank Bobby as well as all of our terrific sponsors, volunteers, and participants. This day would not have been possible without you!
