Meet Zoe & Lindsay
Hi, we’re Zoe and Lindsay, a buddy pair from Pomperaug High School in Pomperaug, Connecticut. Our chapter is pretty new, as we’re in our second year of having a chapter and things are already looking very different than when we first started. Over the past year, things have been crazy due to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the amount of snow we got during the winter months. This has resulted in us looking at how to see each other and get together in very different ways which we never thought we would have to do. Things like meeting through online video chats to see everyone and to communicate regularly have become a new way of keeping in touch on a daily basis, as well as seeing the chapter as a whole. We miss being able to hang out together as often as we used to, but we know we will get back to that one day soon!
We have participated in various virtual events this year hosted by our chapter and by the state office, including various cooking classes, a dance class, and just talking to each other online. One nice sunny day snuck in for us to spend the day outside together, so a small group of our chapter got together at our local area meet up to go ice skating on the pond. After we skated for a while and we eventually got too cold, we followed it up by sharing some warm hot chocolate and munchkins. At Pomperaug High School, we are sticking together even though we are apart, and we can’t wait for warmer weather and days so we spend more time together, while being socially distanced outside!
