Before I joined Best Buddies in 2015, I was left feeling lonely and bored. I found myself struggling to find activities that I enjoyed and found it difficult to participate with my peers. Thankfully, I have always had the support of my mom, dad, and younger triplet siblings, but that wasn’t always enough. I wanted to have more of a connection with my classmates. After joining the Best Buddies chapter at Johnston High School, I have made so many new friends and have found activities that I am passionate about! I love to draw and have been featured in various art shows and contests, played the title character in the adapted theater production of “Moonboy” at my high school, and I play on the Yankee’s baseball team for Kiwanis Miracle League! By being a student leader in Best Buddies and the Inclusion Revolution, I have become an advocate for not only myself, but for people with IDD as well.
