Evening of Thanks Honors Top Supporters in Memphis

David Porter, Melissa Todd and Shelby County Commissioner Willie Brooks
April 12, 2017 – Best Buddies in Memphis hosted an ‘Evening of Thanks’ at Jeff Johnson Restaurant Group’s Local on the Square honoring our most faithful friends whose unwavering generosity continues to propel our mission to enrich the lives of individuals with an intellectual and developmental disability.
Our ‘Evening of Thanks’ is an annual appreciation event for Best Buddies’ Team Rosemary, Executive Board, and top corporate and foundation partners. It takes a village and Best Buddies in Memphis would not be where it is today without the immeasurable support we have received from our surrounding community, making our work of friendship and social inclusion possible.
At this exclusive event, guests enjoyed delicious food and drinks, while mixing and mingling with special guest, David Porter. An American record producer, songwriter, singer, entrepreneur and philanthropist most famous for being the songwriting partner with Isaac Hayes where they produced some of the greatest hits of all time including, Sam & Dave’s “Soul Man” and Mariah Carey’s “Dreamlover”, Mr. Porter truly is a legend in his own right. Now, forever, a friend of Best Buddies, we were thankful to have Mr. Porter join us to give a ‘special thanks’ to our most loyal friends.
