Best Buddies Friendship Walk: Tips to Fundraising Success in Memphis
Get ready to lace up your sneakers – join over 40,000 walkers across the country coming together to support programs in our schools, workplaces, and communities that encourage inclusion for people with an intellectual and developmental disability!
The 2017 Best Buddies Friendship Walk (BBFW) allows us to support and build our programs right here in Tennessee, but we can’t do it without your participation. Fundraising can be intimidating, so we’re here to help with three simple steps to get you started and on your way to your goal!
1) Start with a self-donation: One of the most effective ways to jumpstart your fundraising is to make a gift to your own campaign. Think of it as leading by example when asking friends and family to contribute to your efforts. It’s a great message to your network that you are seriously committed to the cause.
2) Add your photo to your fundraising page: Visit your “My HQ” page on the BBFW site to upload a personal photo. Your family and friends will feel more comfortable donating when the first photo they see is you!
3) Email your network: Create an email you can send to family and friends. To personalize it, write a sentence on why you’re joining Best Buddies to support inclusion this year and add a link to your fundraising page. Your reason for walking with us will inspire family and friends to both donate to your page and join you on the day of the event.
