A Message From Missouri’s State Director, Kelly Quinn
Best Buddies Missouri (BBMO) is growing fast since becoming the 26th state office of Best Buddies International in January. A lot has been happening across the Show-Me-State starting with welcoming Amber Moloney as the first Best Buddies Missouri Program Manager on February 29.
Amber, our Program Manager, and I have been working diligently with the BBMO Advisory Board, community partners, schools, volunteers and generous donors to grow Missouri programs. We started the year with three (3) Friendship Chapters and as of the end of May 2016, we have grown to fifteen (15) Friendship Chapters across the state! This accomplishment would not have been possible without your support! Check out where our chapters are located.
One of the newest Friendship Chapters, Park Hill High School in Kansas City, put together a short video about how their Best Buddies chapter impacts their student body. Check it out:
It has been exciting and inspiring to witness the Park Hill High School students build awareness for inclusiveness in their school and to start this school year as a One-To-One Friendship Chapter.
There is still much to be done, and our team has big plans for our great Show-Me State. I am excited to continue working with you to build meaningful opportunities for people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities through Friendship, Integrated Employment and Leadership. Thank you for your generous time, passion, and financial support of our mission. I look forward to seeing you at community events, social activities and the inaugural Best Buddies Missouri Tastebuds Gala this fall.
