Celebrating Partnerships: The Heartbeat of Programming
Funding for these programs has been made possible by a grant from The Dr. Paul Dirkse Endowment Fund and the Sandra and Richard Ullman Unrestricted Charitable Fund of the Community Foundation of Central Illinois.
A partnership is the association of two or more people. At Best Buddies, these associations are the heart of our mission each and every day. Just look at our school friendship programs. These programs operate in partnership with local schools and community host sites and involve the matching of two people in a one-to-one friendship.
The Best Buddies Jobs program brings together an employee with an employer, the outcome of which is gainful, fair-wage employment for a person with an intellectual or developmental disability. And then there are our financial partnerships with foundations and corporations which result in the continuation and expansion of our programs throughout Illinois.
One of these organizations, The Community Foundation of Central Illinois (CFCI), is helping us make an impact in Central Illinois by providing vital funding to support four chapters in the area including Bradley University, Dunlap High School, Pekin High School and Richwoods High School. CFCI is dedicated to making a sustainable philanthropic impact in the community through visible leadership in connecting people who care with causes that matter and we are honored that they have recognized Best Buddies as a cause that matters!
Together, Best Buddies and CFCI have provided friendships to countless students and adults and we look forward to the opportunity to continue to grow and nurture our partnership in the years to come.
