Meet Anna Tramposch & Thomas Blackwell
“My friendship with Thomas started in September of 2014 on an Emory Best Buddies trip to a Braves game. Ever since, we have been sports fanatics. We have gone to more baseball and basketball games, and played tennis together. We also often grab lunch at Willy’s Mexicana Grill (the nachos are his favorite) and I saw the play he was in last spring! I have had the pleasure of getting to know his parents and two brothers as well. They have also been another support system for me while I am away from home and often stressed by school work.
“I had been involved in Best Buddies Virginia programs all throughout high school and I knew I wanted to stay involved during my college experience. Although there are tradeoffs with going from a high school chapter to a college chapter, something I have enjoyed is being Thomas’ friend while he becomes more independent as an adult and having Thomas as a friend while I discover my passions in college.
“He recently started an almost-full-time job so he is a lot busier during the week. However, our friendship has still had space to grow. As friendships naturally evolve, Thomas jokes around with me a lot more than he did a year ago. He also recently broke out his killer dance moves that I didn’t know existed. I am so thankful for my friendship with Thomas and I am so excited for what my next two years in Emory Best Buddies have in store!”
