BRAVE Best Buddies help Veteran’s on Veterans Day
Honoring our Veterans is a very important part in paying our respects to the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women. Cheshire High school (CHS) have created a school club called BRAVE (Bringing Remembrance to All Veterans Everywhere) to do just that. This club is very active in their school’s local community, and hosts an annual Veteran’s Day breakfast & ceremony for their local Veterans.
This year, Cheshire High Best Buddies is the largest high school chapter in our state, breaking participation records with 300 active members! With such a large crowd, the chapter has really focused on making a community impact outside of their school. In doing so, CHS Best Buddies teamed with BRAVE to support them in their mission of reaching to local veterans.
Adam Majeski, the current Chapter President of CHS Best Buddies, commented on how the event went, stating:
This month CHSBB had a joint chapter meeting with another club at our school for the first ever “Brave Buddies” meeting. 250 of our members helped BRAVE with their Veteran’s Day breakfast and ceremony on the 11th by making posters and writing letters at the chapter meeting, as well as having Buddy pairs help at the event itself by serving food and greeting veterans. Because of this collaboration, BRAVE was able to make their event more successful, and CHSBB was able to give back to a community that has been so great to them, and more importantly, send the message of inclusion to even more people.
Way to go Cheshire High School Best Buddies!
