Chapter President Tells His Best Buddies Story Through Video
“I made life-long friendships, interviewed Anthony Shriver, and made a difference.”
Felipe Deupi, Chapter President of Best Buddies at Riviera Preparatory School in Miami kicked off his year at Best Buddies Leadership Conference in Indiana, and it has only grown from there. Felipe documented his experience at the conference through the lens of his video camera, collecting memories of new friends, interviews, and in true Best Buddies fashion, lots of fun and dancing.
After returning from Indiana, Felipe kept in contact with some of the friends he met including Samiha Dossul, a buddy in the Miami Citizen’s and Jobs programs. To get a better idea of Samiha’s everyday life, he took his camera to Swine Restaurant to interview her about her job and all the roles she plays in the restaurant.
Felipe’s passion and excitement for the mission of Best Buddies as a whole is apparent in the time and dedication he took to develop true friendships, and to continue the energy of Best Buddies into a project of his own.
Compiling all his Best Buddies footage, Felipe created a video of his own Best Buddies story. It is a story of friendship, inclusion, and shows how a single person can be the spark to so much change in the world. In the words of Felipe himself, “We can all make a difference by working together.”
