March Madness Came Early to Trabuco Hills High School
March Madness came early to Trabuco Hills High School this year! On March 6 Trabuco Hills HS Best Buddies organized their first annual March Madness Basketball Game. Teams of buddies and peer buddies spent the evening swooping and hooping, dishing and swishing. This event was truly an inclusive affair: varsity girls basketball players officiated the game; Trabuco Hills cheerleaders cheered on the players; and students and parents- including those not affiliated with Best Buddies- showed up in support.
Best Buddies Vice President, Lizzy Kim, played in the game with her buddy, Roberto Alvarez, and said that the game was a wonderful experience. “Playing with Roberto made me so happy. Every time he got the ball he jumped so excitedly, and when he scored the look on his face was priceless!”
Lizzy was also appreciative of the support Best Buddies received from the school. She had not expected such a turnout at the game. “The students at our school are such a great group of people and the support they have for Best Buddies is a wonderful thing!”
