Best Buddies participants around the world are gearing up for a summer celebration of epic proportions! The “23rd Annual Best Buddies International Leadership Conference,” held July 20-23, will kick-off an “Inclusion Revolution” for the 2012-2013 academic year. The conference, expected to be the largest in the history of the organization, will also celebrate its 10-year anniversary on the Indiana University campus in Bloomington, IN.
Conference attendees will learn about their role as leaders in their chapters, how to manage volunteers, how to advocate for the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), and how to bring social inclusion to their local communities. Participation in the conference is open to middle school, high school and college leaders in Best Buddies chapters, and also features an outstanding public training course for people with IDD through the Best Buddies Ambassadors program. More than 1,000 Best Buddies participants worldwide are expected to attend the conference and receive the skills and knowledge needed to lead their programs.
The success of the trainings offered at “Leadership Conference” is showcased every year through the efforts and leadership of conference attendees in their chapters back at home. The weekend is a life-changing experience for anyone who attends and is sure to be a rewarding experience for all leaders of the organization’s movement. Best Buddies invites you to be part of the “Inclusion Revolution,” and to experience it as it happens by watching a live stream of the conference ceremonies and education sessions throughout the weekend!
